Customs (T.I.R) specification

Vehicles which cross borders outwith the European Community must satisfy customs requirements. For example tilt bodywork must have a continuous customs (T.I.R) cable passing through the tilt eyelets which are fitted closer than usual i.e. 200 mm apart which prevents access to the load deck from outside. All fastenings and fittings must be secured so that they cannot be opened. Rear doors must be closed and fitted with customs locks. Flooring must be fixed so that it cannot be removed from outside the vehicle.
